Contact lenses in Lafayette, CA

We offer a wide selection of contact lenses including disposable soft contact, bifocal/multifocal, toric, and colored lenses. Whether you wear daily, weekly or monthly disposables, or conventional (vial) lenses, check out our selection of lenses that fit your needs.

A good contact lens fit starts with a thorough eye exam to ensure the most up-to-date prescription and rule out any  pre-existing conditions that could interfere with contact lens wear.

Lamorinda Optometry in Lafayette, CA

Our eye doctors in Lafayette, CA will determine the best fitting lens based on your lifestyle needs, the shape and health of your eye. In most cases, you'll have the opportunity to try lenses on the same day as your exam. You can even go home with a few samples before making a final decision.

Our eye care experts follow up the initial fitting and then make any necessary changes in fit or materials to get you the best possible fit. We teach all our patients proper contact lens care and also possible consequences if proper care is not taken. Then we continue with long-term follow-up to monitor the condition of the lenses and to ensure that proper hygiene is being maintained.

June 23, 2017

Dear Patients

After practicing Optometry in Lamorinda for the past 34 years, I have decided it is time to retire.  As of August this year, I will no longer be seeing patients at Lamorinda Optometry.  I am very grateful for all the years I have practiced Optometry in Lamorinda, and thankful for the wonderful patients I have had the opportunity to serve.

I’m excited to be able to spend more time traveling, sailing, biking and most of all to share more time with my wife, children and grandchildren.  I am also saddened to not be able to continue to see my patients and care for their eye health and vision.  Thank you for the trust that you have placed in my hands over the years, I have enjoyed taking care of your eyes and getting to know you.

Dr. Nathan Orr was my associate for over 7 years and purchased my practice in 2014.  I am confident that Dr. Orr will continue to practice Optometry with the highest regards for your eye health and vision needs and that you will have as much confidence in him as you have shown to me all of these years.

Best wishes

Richard W. Baker

Insurance – Family Eye Care in Lafayette, California

Eye Doctor Insurance in Mt Diablo Boulevard, CA

The cost of routine eye exams and prescription eyewear can be of real concern, especially for large families. In many cases, vision insurance can lower these annual expenses.

A vision insurance policy is not the same as health insurance. Regular health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to unexpected eye injuries or disease. Vision insurance, on the other hand, is a wellness benefit designed to provide routine eye care, prescription eyewear and other vision-related services at a reduced cost.

Because we provide both medical and routine eye care, we accept a number of insurance plans to help cover the cost depending on your individual needs. Here are just some of the plans that we accept:

Plans we accept:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Medicare
  • United Health Care
